Job summary

Pertemps is seeking an experienced youth worker to lead and deliver youth provision across Ponders End Youth Centre, Craig Park Youth Centre, and APC sessions in the borough.

You will plan, develop, and deliver engaging activities that meet the needs and interests of young people, while ensuring safeguarding and collaborating with partners to monitor outcomes.

• Requires an experienced youth worker able to work independently and lead sessions confidently.
• Ability to engage young people effectively and support their personal development.
• Experience in safeguarding and delivering inclusive, outcome-focused youth programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver engaging youth club sessions across multiple sites.
• Plan, develop, and deliver a range of youth work activities.
• Create session plans and project activities to support positive outcomes.
• Ensure safeguarding compliance and safe delivery of sessions.
• Build relationships with young people to promote participation and inclusion.
• Deliver detached and outreach youth work in the local community.
• Support development of targeted and universal youth programmes.
• Collaborate with schools and community organisations to enhance opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate programmes, maintaining records and reporting outcomes.
• Promote young people's voice and attend team meetings and supervision.

Role Description

The post holder will lead and deliver youth work provision across Ponders End Youth Centre, Craig Park Youth Centre, and APC sessions.

• Lead and deliver engaging youth club sessions for young people across multiple youth provision sites. Plan, develop, and deliver a range of youth work activities that respond to the needs and interests of young people.
• Design and produce session plans, programmes, and project activities that support positive outcomes for young people.
• Take responsibility for the safe and effective delivery of youth club sessions, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies, procedures, and good practice.
• Build positive relationships with young people and encourage their participation, personal development, and social inclusion.
• Deliver detached and outreach youth work within the local community and surrounding areas to engage young people who may not access centre-based provision.
• Support the development of targeted and universal youth programmes, including holiday activities, accredited learning opportunities, and personal development projects.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, schools, and community organisations to enhance opportunities for young people.
• Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of youth programmes, maintaining accurate records and reporting on activity and outcomes as required.
• Promote young people's voice, participation, and involvement in shaping activities and services. Attend team meetings, training, and supervision sessions and contribute to the ongoing development of Youth Service provision.

This role requires an experienced youth worker who can work independently, lead sessions confidently, engage young people effectively, and contribute to the continued development of services across the borough.
