A local government council in the Liverpool City Region seeks a Youth Worker (Assisting) to support the New Horizons LGBTQ+ Youth Group. This part-time role involves delivering targeted youth work and creating inclusive environments for young people. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a commitment to safeguarding, and an understanding of youth issues. Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends offered.

We have an opportunity to be a Youth Worker (Assisting) at Wirral Council. The role supports the New Horizons LGBTQ+ Youth Group, providing a safe, inclusive space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, and Questioning young people aged up to 19.
Salary: JNC Assisting Range, Points 5 (Unqualified)
Hours: 3 hours per week (flexible, including evenings/weekends)
Location: Wirral
Build positive relationships with young people. Plan and deliver outcome-focused group activities. Support early intervention for at-risk young people. Record project data and contribute to service development. Act as a role model and adhere to health and safety policies.
Essential Criteria: Knowledge of face-to-face youth work with 11-19-year-olds. Understanding of safeguarding and equal opportunities. Strong communication and IT skills. Commitment to pursuing a Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work.
Desirable Criteria: Experience working with young people. Familiarity with youth work practice recording. Knowledge of youth work curriculum development.
