Support Worker – Young People’s Housing Services

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our Young People’s Housing Services team. In this rewarding role you will work directly with young people, including separated migrant children, helping them build the skills and confidence they need to live independently.
Key responsibilities
- Provide support within supported housing, focusing on promoting independence rather than delivering personal care.
- Build trusting relationships, act with empathy, respect and dignity for all young people.
- Use a trauma‑informed approach to understand behaviours, respond with patience and support young people through their journey.
- Maintain strong record‑keeping and administer documentation to ensure young people’s safety.
- Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
- Manage workload independently, set and maintain professional boundaries, switch off when the day is done.
- Commit to learning, training, legislation, and continuous development.

Essential criteria
- Full UK driving licence with business insurance and access to a vehicle for business use.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Children and Young Peoples Workforce Diploma – or willingness to complete, supported by Hightown Housing.
- Ability to work as part of a 24‑hour rota, including weekends, bank holidays and sleep‑ins.
