Job summary

The Daltons offers warm and inviting accommodation located in Seaham, with 6 bedrooms supporting young people aged 16 to 25 and receiving care for mental health, learning disabilities and autism.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the developmental needs of young people (physical, emotional, intellectual, social and educational).
• Knowledge of child protection issues and procedures and safeguarding policies.
• Ability to motivate self and others to meet time and performance goals.
• Ability to deal with emotional stress.
• Flexibility and adaptability in changing environments.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to young people and staff.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and meet the identified needs of children/young people as outlined in individual care plans and as agreed with the manager.
• Work in partnership with young people, their families, social workers and other agencies to meet needs.
• Ensure that work with young people complies with legislation, procedures and good practice in safeguarding.
• Prioritise safety and welfare of young people at all times.
• Participate in implementing, monitoring and reviewing care/health/education plans and contribute in reviews.
• Understand and comply with safeguarding policies and related legislation.
• Promote a comfortable environment conducive to good social care practice and standards.
