Job summary

AFC Bournemouth Academy is seeking an Academy Player Care Officer to support U9-U14 players with their development journey. The role prioritises safeguarding, relationships, and voice within the academy environment at the Bournemouth Performance Centre in Wimborne.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Coaching, Medical, Education and Psychology teams to deliver life-skills programmes and parent workshops, ensuring smooth transitions and ongoing welfare support throughout the academy

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working with children.
• Experience of working with elite young athletes or educational environment.
• Hold or working towards qualifications in education, psychology or social work.
• Mental Health First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop relationships within the U9-U14 players to support their development journey.
• Liaise with Coaching, Performance, Medical, Analysis, Education and Psychology departments to support players.
• Develop and deliver a Player Care & Life Skills programme for U9-U14 players, including workshops and activities for players and parents.
• Lead and host workshops throughout the season, using internal providers or covering and leading topics that enhance the player journey.
• Manage the U9-U14 player induction process for trialists and new players; support transitions across age groups.
