Job summary

Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Team Manager to join the Youth Justice Service in North Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated Youth Justice team, delivering high-quality practice and safeguarding for children and young people.

The successful candidate will provide operational and strategic leadership, supervise staff, manage high-risk cases and build strong partnerships with Police, Children's Services and other partners.

Qualifications

• Social Work England Registration or equivalent registration.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Minimum 5 years' Youth Justice experience within a statutory setting.
• Previous Team Manager or significant management experience in Youth Justice Services.
• Strong knowledge of youth justice legislation, safeguarding and risk management.
• Experience supervising staff and managing performance.
• Excellent communication, leadership and partnership-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a Youth Justice team, ensuring effective service delivery and positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Provide high-quality supervision, support and performance management to staff.
• Oversee complex and high-risk cases, ensuring appropriate assessment, planning and intervention.
• Promote safeguarding and ensure all statutory responsibilities are fulfilled.
• Develop strong partnerships with Police, Children's Services, Education, Health and wider stakeholders.
• Monitor performance, quality assurance and compliance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
• Drive service improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of the Youth Justice Service.
• Provide leadership within multi-agency forums and represent the service at key meetings.
