Job summary

Kent County Council is seeking a permanent, full-time Youth Justice Practitioner to cover West Kent including Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Hawkhurst, Edenbridge and Sevenoaks. Job description

We have a permanent, full-time Youth Justice Practitioner position available in West Kent. This is an area-based role covering West Kent (Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Hawkhurst, Edenbridge and Sevenoaks). You will be working with young people aged 10 - 18 years who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System. The purpose of your work will be to reduce the risk of reoffending in accordance with the agreed intervention plans and in the context of managing risk of harm to others and vulnerability issues. As a member of a multi-agency service, you will work in partnership to:

  • Complete assessments.
  • Complete reports for Court and panels.
  • Work directly with young people, and their families, with a diverse range of needs, to complete interventions as part of their statutory programme.

The role also includes regular attendance at Youth Justice team, and multi-agency, meetings for the purpose of prevention and risk management. You will be expected to be part of the service's duty rota, attending Youth, Magistrates, and Crown Courts regularly.

This post is subject to a Full UK Driving Licence.
