Job summary

Connect2Kent is recruiting for a Court Officer within the Youth Offending Service to hold cases at standard, enhanced or intensive Scaled Approach levels in line with Youth Justice Board guidance.

The role involves collaborating with young people and their families or carers in a motivational, child-centred manner to address factors affecting desistance and welfare needs, and representing the service in Court with comprehensive documentation and inter-agency liaison.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people or in youth justice settings preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with families/carers and multi-agency partners.

Responsibilities

  • Hold cases at standard, enhanced, or intensive levels within the Scaled Approach as guided by Youth Justice Board.
  • Represent the service in Court, prepare court paperwork, attend Youth Court, and present reports on behalf of colleagues.
  • Record processes and decisions accurately in line with departmental and legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with agencies and work in an adolescent risk and whole-family model of intervention.

Job description

Hold cases at either standard, enhanced or intensive Scaled Approach level in accordance with the Youth Justice Board Case Management Guidance document. This will include significant inter-agency liaison, multi-agency work, for young people and their families using an adolescent risk and whole family model of intervention

Work with young people and their families or carers in a way which is collaborative, motivating and child-centred to address the factors related to the young persons desisting from offending, the risk they pose to others or their welfare needs.

Represent the service in Court and perform all the tasks expected of a Court Officer. This includes preparing paperwork for the Youth Court, attending as the Youth Offending Service representative and present reports on behalf of colleagues, ensuring that processes and decisions are accurately recorded in accordance with departmental and legislative requirements.
