Job summary

Wrexham Youth Justice Service (YJS) is seeking a Youth Justice Officer to manage a caseload of young people subject to statutory Court Orders and Prevention programmes. You will support the children throughout the intervention, engaging with them and their parents/carers with a focus on risk and outcomes.

The role requires a related degree or equivalent Youth Justice experience, flexibility, resilience and the ability to work Saturdays and Bank Holidays on a rota to cover court duties.

Qualifications

• Degree in a related discipline or equivalent level of Youth Justice experience.
• Experience of completing assessments, delivering interventions and managing risk.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of young people subject to statutory Court Orders and Prevention programmes.
• Support children through the intervention by engaging with them and their parents/carers.
• Be flexible and resilient, delivering an excellent service within resource constraints.
• Work Saturdays and Bank Holidays on a rota to provide a duty officer for the local courts.
