Contract role
We are recruiting for an experienced Youth Justice Case Manager to work in a multi-agency Team in Trafford Council. This post will be part of a multi-agency team providing an integrated approach to delivering services to achieve the principal aim of the youth justice system, which is to prevent offending by children and young people.
Trafford Youth Justice works to targets and objectives set in an annual Youth Justice Performance Plan, and the post holder will be expected to work towards these targets and within the framework set by Youth Justice National Standards. Trafford Youth Justice operates within the court arena, in the community and supervises young people in custodial settings, with contact with victims of crime.
This post contributes to the overall team objectives by offering intervention and support to young people in contact with the criminal justice system and their families in accordance with assessed risks and needs. The post-holder will be expected to cover a range of duties outlined in this job description, and to adopt a flexible approach to working with young people and their families in the community, in order to protect the public, prevent re-offending and secure positive outcomes for young people.
Case Managers are expected to take responsibility for young people with more complex needs or with a higher risk of offending or of serious harm.
