Job summary

A support organization for young people in Northern Ireland is seeking dedicated individuals to provide holistic support to those aged 16 to 21, including assistance with tenancy management and life skills. Ideal candidates will possess experience working with young people, a relevant degree, and a full driving license. This permanent position offers a competitive salary of £25,545 per annum with 37.5 weekly hours. Successful applicants will be aligned with the values of the organization and work actively to advocate for young people's needs.

Qualifications

  • 1 year's experience of working with young people or a degree in a related field plus 6 months experience.
  • Experience in assessing risk and safety planning.
  • Experience in assessing need and support planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic support to young people accessing the service.
  • Identify support plans in partnership with young people.
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided.
  • Assist with life skills and tenancy management.
  • Plan and participate in decision-making regarding moves in and out.

Job description

MACS provides 24/7 supported housing for young people aged between 16 and 21, who are leaving care, or who may be homeless.

Responsibilities
  • To provide Holistic Support (on a one to one and group basis) to all young people accessing the service.
  • To identify Support Plans in partnership with Young People and Professionals/Service were appropriate.
  • To maintain and review accurate and up to date records of support provided to Young People.
  • To provide practical 'hands on' support to assist Young People with all areas of managing tenancy including life skills and emphasising the importance of being a good neighbor.
  • Comprehensively plan (with Young People and key agencies) and participate in the decision making relating to the move-in and move-on from MACS.
  • Workers will liaise and advocate with Housing Executive/Housing Association.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 1 years’ experience of working with young people.ORDegree in Social Work, Youth and Community Work or similar AND6 months experience of working with young people.
  • Experience of assessing risk and safety planning in order to keep young people safe.
  • Experience of assessing need and support planning for young people.
  • A full, current driving license with access to a car, insured for business use is required to meet the requirements of the post in full.
  • Experience of working in supported housing or similar environment.
  • To work within the ethos, culture and values of MACS.
