Job summary

St Albans School is seeking an enthusiastic football coach to support and develop our football programme for pupils across boys' and girls' teams. You will deliver high-quality coaching, support competitive fixtures, and help foster a positive sporting culture aligned with the school’s values.

The role involves planning sessions, leading teams, and ensuring safety and wellbeing while promoting participation and pathways for talented players.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching football in a school or youth setting.
• Ability to develop players technically, tactically, physically and mentally.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging football coaching sessions for pupils of varying abilities.
• Lead school teams during training sessions, fixtures, and tournaments.
• Develop players' technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects of performance.
• Promote high standards of attendance, punctuality, sportsmanship, and behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with PE staff and school leaders to develop the football programme.
• Monitor player progression and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants during training and matches.
• Encourage participation and enjoyment while supporting pathways for talented players.
