Job summary

This newly created outreach post sits within Dorset Community CAMHS in Dorchester, supporting children and young people with mental health difficulties. The work is to help them stay engaged with treatment, reduce the risk of deterioration and reach their goals, working with families, schools and social care.

Most of the role is community-based, in homes, schools and local settings across Dorset, within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in health or social care.
• Experience with young people.
• Experience with mental health concerns.
• Experience with partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people on CYPMH interventions to stay engaged in treatment and reach identified goals.
• Deliver outreach support in homes, schools and community settings.
• Assist registered professionals in delivering therapeutic and behavioural interventions.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers and partner agencies, including education and social care.
• Contribute to assessments, care planning, risk management and review processes.
• Promote safeguarding so that the welfare of children and young people stays central to practice.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development.
