Overview

Youth Development Worker – Temporary Contract

Location: Plymouth

Pay: £14.82 per hour

Hours: 37 per week (four-week rolling rota)

Contract until: February 2026 (possible extension)

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of our client for a passionate Youth Development Worker to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people aged 16–25 — helping them gain confidence, build life skills, and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1-2-1 support and personalised action plans.
  • Help young people attend appointments and access key services.
  • Review and update risk assessments and support plans.
  • Run engaging group sessions and community activities.
  • Work closely with other professionals to provide joined-up support.
About you

You’ll be creative, empathetic, and able to adapt your approach to meet each person’s needs. You’ll enjoy working independently, managing your own caseload, and seeing the positive impact of your support.

What you’ll need
  • Experience working with young people in a support or development role.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and mental health awareness.
  • Confidence in risk assessing and planning support.
  • A proactive, flexible, and resilient attitude.

DBS: Enhanced (Adults & Children) required.
