Job summary

Merton Council in London is seeking two ME8 Youth and Play Leads to join the Youth Service team, based at Phipps Bridge Youth Centre or Pollards Hill Youth Centre.

The role involves leading junior and senior youth sessions, building positive relationships with children and young people, and creating safe, inclusive environments where they can learn and thrive. Flexibility is required with evenings, weekends and holidays, and safeguarding is a priority.

We are looking for two enthusiastic ME8 Youth and Play Leads to join our Youth Service team, based at either Phipps Bridge Youth Centre or Pollards Hill Youth Centre.

You will lead and develop engaging junior and senior youth sessions, build positive relationships with children and young people, and help create safe, inclusive environments where they can learn, grow, and thrive. You will also support outreach activities, projects, and holiday programmes while maintaining high standards of safeguarding and health and safety.

We are looking for people with experience of working with children and/or young people, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality youth and play work.

This role requires flexibility, including regular evening work, occasional weekends, and school holiday programmes.
