VOYPIC in Belfast is seeking a Youth Advocate to provide professional, independent advocacy for children and care-experienced young people across health trusts. The role promotes rights under NI law and UNCRC, enabling informed participation and safeguarding in decisions that affect lives.

Based at 100 Great Patrick Street, the post offers 37.5 hours per week, a fixed-term 1-year contract with possible extension, and NJC points 19–24 (£32,061–£35,412) per year.

Formación

• Two years' paid direct work with vulnerable children and young people.
• Experience helping young people have a voice in decisions.
• Experience with a range of needs and communication styles.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.

Responsabilidades

• Provide independent advocacy to ensure views are heard in decisions.
• Explain confidentiality and rights to children and young people.
• Support development of self-advocacy and representation to decision-makers.
• Visit residential care settings and build trusting relationships.
• Promote safeguarding and legal frameworks in practice.
• Collaborate with professionals, carers, and families to promote rights.
