Job summary

A leading youth support organization in the UK is seeking a committed individual to support young people in care and those transitioning to adulthood. Responsibilities include assessing needs, managing caseloads, and collaborating with professionals to implement effective intervention plans. Candidates should possess an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS, experience with vulnerable children, and strong report writing skills. This is a contracted position lasting between 3-6 months, with opportunities for extension based on performance and budget.

Qualifications

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service is required.
• Experience in working directly with vulnerable children.
• Ability to respond appropriately to safeguarding issues.
• Ability to recognise and respond to safeguarding risks.
• Experience delivering group work and intervention programmes.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with young people to assess needs and address them.
• Manage the caseload and plan work activities effectively.
• Provide concise written and verbal reports based on evidence analysis.
• Collaborate with professionals to implement pathway plans.
• Maintain knowledge of issues affecting care Leavers including benefits, housing and employment.

Job description

To work closely with the practice group to support and enable young people who are currently in care and those who have left care and are eligible for leaving care services to make a successful transition to adulthood through practical and planned interventions.

Responsibilities:

Work in partnership with the young person, carers, and other professionals to assess the young person needs and undertake actions to address need.

Manage the caseload as directed and organise and plan work activities prioritising tasks and responsibilities.

Provide written and verbal reports, which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence

Work with key professionals from the department and externally to offer advice and implement pathway plans

Maintain working knowledge of issues that impact on young people in care\leaving care including benefits, housing and training and employment opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

• Candidates must have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service
• Previous experience in working with children leaving care is ideal
• Experience in working directly with vulnerable children is essential
• Ability to recognise, and respond appropriately to issues of risk and safeguarding
• Experience group work with young people and delivery of intervention programmes.

Please note this is a contracted position of 3-6 months with the possibility of extension depending on budgets and performance.
