Job summary

The Young People’s Recovery Practitioner role in Redbridge offers an exciting opportunity to deliver early intervention and prevention work, providing specialist drug and alcohol treatment to young people. You will carry a caseload, assess needs, plan care, deliver brief interventions and work with families to support healthy choices.

Work with partners such as YOS, CAMHS, social services, schools and colleges to enable service users to achieve the best possible outcomes and reduce risk-taking

What we’re looking for

An exciting opportunity for a Young People’s Recovery Practitioner has arisen and we are looking for an experienced, reliable, creative person to promote, co-ordinate and deliver structured support.

The Young People’s practitioner will be part of our dynamic and exciting Young People’s service in Redbridge. We are looking for someone who is motivated to ensure service users achieve the best possible outcomes.

The post-holder will deliver early intervention and prevention work and provide specialist drug and alcohol treatment for young people to:

• Prevent young people from engaging in substance misusing and risk-taking behaviours
• Enable young people to develop boundaries, emotional resilience and self-esteem
• Actively support young people to reduce and/or stop harmful behaviours such as drug and alcohol consumption, encouraging prosocial and healthy alternatives

The post-holder will bring passion and enthusiasm alongside a commitment to working to support young people and their families. They will carry a caseload of young people and will be required to:

Working hours: 9am – 5pm

Location: The role is predominantly based interchangeably between Barkingside and Ilford Chambers, and will involve travel to schools and satellites within the borough, and to other VIA locations if needed.
