Job description

Where: Sheffield city centre, at the office and operational sites in the local community. When: We will work with you to be as flexible as possible, whether you can donate one day a week of your time or 3days+. The core activity of this role occurs during the day (9:00am - 5:00pm) and evenings (5:00pm-7:30pm). If you'd like to discuss this in more detail before you apply, please email Gemma. Volunteer Expenses: Travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed as per CGL volunteer policy.

Key activities of the role
  • Support us to build positive relationships with diverse communities (BAME, LGBTQIA+ etc), individuals, families, and partner agencies to promote inclusivity and break down barriers for young people seeking support
  • Support in signposting and advocating for young people and families to access our support, and other services
  • Attend team meetings/forums/events where appropriate
  • Support with updating social media platforms to drive impactful campaigns, such as Black History Month, Pride, and other EDI-focused initiatives
  • Support to identify ways to remove barriers and find solutions to help engage diverse communities.

We work with young people under 18 across Sheffield, offering support and treatment for issues related to drugs and alcohol.
