A community support organization in England is seeking a Young Carers Coordinator to support children with caring responsibilities. The role involves conducting assessments and planning programs for young carers aged 13-18. You will provide necessary guidance and support to schools and help young carers take a break from their responsibilities. Candidates should have strong communication skills and experience working with young people. The role requires flexibility in working hours and a full driving license.
25 hours per week. Actual Salary: 18117 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Young Carers team to support children within North Somerset who have a caring responsibility at home.
In this Young Carers Coordinator role you will be conducting statutory assessments along with planning, delivering and leading on a programme of support for our senior young carers aged between 13-18 years. This will also include extra trips outside our standard funding.
As one of our main referrers you will be an important link to schools and provide advice and guidance to young carers.
Following assessment you will provide our Young Carers with support and a break from their caring role. This is a real change to make a difference.
With experience in working with and building rapport with young people you will have great communication skills and be able to work sensitively understanding the impact of being a young carer.
Alongside this you will have an understanding of the multi‑agency approach to work and child safeguarding.
You will have experience and confidence in planning and delivering group sessions and the ability to network with a range of stakeholders.
Flexibility around working hours will be needed as regular evening work will be required.
The successful candidate will also be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence with access to your own car is required or alternative transport.
