Job description

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd.
Start date September 2026, full time, fixed term for 12 months. Hybrid model: 2 days per week onsite in Swindon or London, rest home based.

Join RWE Offshore Wind for a year‑in‑industry placement and gain invaluable insight into this unique, innovative sector. RWE is one of the largest offshore wind developers globally, with 10 operational farms and multiple projects in development. This is an exciting time to become part of our team.

About the role
  • Gain experience in consenting and environmental management during construction of an offshore wind farm, working in a large organisation, industry events and stakeholder engagement, and environmental impact assessments, marine licensing, Development Consent Order and NSIP planning.
  • Assist the team with:
    • Consent or licence applications
    • Writing and reviewing key documents, minutes, presentations and trackers
    • Assistant project management tasks
    • Engagement with regulators and statutory stakeholders (e.g. Marine Management Organisation, Natural England, local planning authorities).
Job requirements and experience
  • You are an enrolled student in Environmental science, Environmental management, Environmental biology, Renewable energy, Geography, Marine biology, Oceanography, Marine sciences or a similar degree course eligible for a year in industry placement.
  • You have very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • You can coordinate your own workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • You are comfortable working in a diverse team environment and dealing with a range of stakeholders every day.
  • You are open to travel to other sites if needed. Travel expenses will be covered by us.

Advantageous, but not essential
  • Work experience within the renewables sector or transferable industries.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and other similar software.
