Job summary

AWE invites applicants for a 12-month Year in Industry placement in Computer Science. The role is full-time, on-site at Aldermaston near Reading, Berkshire, with a starting date in August 2027.

You will contribute to real technical work in a multidisciplinary environment, working with computer scientists, software engineers, data scientists and HPC specialists. AWE supports your development through mentoring and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• On track to achieve a minimum 2:2 degree classification or equivalent.
• Available to join in August 2027.
• British National with UK passport and 10 years UK residence for DV clearance.

Responsibilities

• Mainly focus on one or two projects or technical areas to build meaningful knowledge.
• Support advanced scientific modelling, HPC, data analysis and software development.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and learn through on-the-job training.
