Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Pastoral Lead / Head of Year for a secondary school in Havering. The role focuses on wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and academic progress within an assigned year group.

You will work with senior leaders, safeguarding teams and parents to support students’ engagement and achievement, including safeguarding procedures and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral, behaviour, safeguarding or Head of Year roles in a secondary school.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with students, parents and staff.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for pastoral care of a designated year group.
• Monitor student behaviour, attendance, punctuality and wellbeing.
• Support students with behavioural or emotional needs and implement plans.
• Work with parents, carers and external agencies as needed.
• Lead year-group assemblies and contribute to the pastoral programme.
• Maintain records of pastoral interventions and progress.
