City of London Academies Trust is recruiting for a Year 6 teacher to join a two-form entry year group. You will teach alongside a colleague, with combined planning time and a clearly defined curriculum across core and foundation subjects.

The role requires excellent subject knowledge, strong relationship-building skills and a sense of humour, with a commitment to a positive behavioural culture and high standards of learning.

Responsabilités

• Teach Year 6 in teams of two with shared planning and an established curriculum
• Follow school routines and established marking policy to maximise impact while maintaining workload balance
• Deliver a well sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum across core subjects and foundation subjects in the timetable
• Contribute to behaviour and learning culture and, if applicable, take on leadership of a curriculum area (TLR)
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and support the school ethos and values

Description du poste

This role is to teach a Year 6 class who have been well-prepared and are motivated to learn. Teaching is in teams of two (there are two classes in each year-group) with combined planning time and an established curriculum.

The school has clear routines and expectations for lessons. Marking, in line with an established policy, is designed to have maximum impact without causing excessive workload.

Core subjects are generally taught in the mornings with foundation in the afternoons, with PE, music, computing and some others taught by specialists in PPA time. Some setting is done in core subjects.

You will be fully aligned with our approach, understanding the critical role you play in shaping a behavioural and learning culture within our school. You will be adept at using direct instruction pedagogy and delivering a well sequenced, knowledge rich curriculum. Dynamic, inspiring and highly effective, you will strive to surpass what has been achieved. You will be committed to creating an environment that promotes academic, creative, sporting, linguistic and personal achievement., We seek a teacher with Year 6 expertise, excellent subject knowledge, the ability to build relationships quickly, and who is team player with a sense of humour.

Each teacher leads a curriculum subject. If this postholder can offer writing across the school, they would be eligible for a TLR., The role is covered by part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
