Overview

Year 6 Teacher - QTS — SEMH & ASC School, Basingstoke. ASAP start – Permanent position.

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a provision in Basingstoke which provides education for pupils aged 10-16 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autism (ASC). They are looking to appoint an engaging, empathetic and passionate Year 6 Teacher to join their successful teaching staff. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver an engaging, challenging, and inclusive Year 6 curriculum to pupils aged 10-16 in an SEN/SEMH setting.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and develop a supportive classroom environment.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet individual learning needs and adapt lessons for ASC and SEMH learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and SENCo to plan and monitor progress.
  • Contribute to a cutting-edge and transformational approach to educating students with ASC and SEMH.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Fully qualified teacher with QTS.
  • Emotionally intelligent, empathetic, highly motivated, and capable of delivering an exciting curriculum.
  • Experience in SEN/SEMH settings is preferred, but not mandatory; the ability to engage with young people and tailor lessons is essential.
About the Role

The successful Year 6 Teacher will ideally have experience teaching in an SEN/SEMH school; however, the key requirement is the ability to engage with learners, build positive relationships, and tailor learning to individual needs. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Basingstoke.
