Job description

Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant - Hackney (Faith Primary School) 🌟

Location: Hackney, East London

Contract: January - July 2025 (Full-time, Term Time Only)

Pay: £95 per day (increasing to £110 after 12 working weeks) - Payment PAYE

Agency: SANZA Teaching Agency - Exclusive Opportunity

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be working exclusively with a welcoming one-form entry faith primary school in Hackney to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from January to July 2025.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, nurturing school with a strong inclusive ethos.

💡 About the Role

In this dual role, you will:

  • Work as a general Year 5 classroom TA in the mornings, supporting learning and classroom routines across the school.
  • Provide 1:1 support in the afternoons for a Year 6 pupil with autism and communication and language needs.

The pupil joined the school a year and a half ago, arriving new to the country with very limited English. He has made significant progress thanks to the incredible support of his current 1:1 TA. He now has a bespoke timetable, with all lessons carefully adapted to meet his individual needs.

While some of his time is spent working 1:1 with a TA, he values being amongst his peers and enjoys joining his classmates for parts of the day, completing differentiated work within the classroom. He is a kind, polite, and curious child who thrives with patient, consistent support.

👩🏫 What We're Looking For
  • Experience supporting children with autism and communication needs (essential).
  • Ability to follow and implement a bespoke timetable and personalised learning plan.
  • A calm, nurturing, and patient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
🌟 What the School Offers
  • A warm, inclusive environment with a strong faith ethos.
  • A supportive leadership team and dedicated colleagues.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's final year of primary school.
