Year 5/6 Teacher - Blackburn with Darwen

Location: Blackburn with Darwen

Start date: January 2026 - July 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Salary: £140 - £200 per day (depending on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming Primary School in Blackburn who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5/6 Teacher to join their team. The school is proud of its strong community values and nurturing ethos, where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential in a caring and inclusive environment.

The successful teacher will plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that inspire pupils and promote a love of learning across the curriculum – particularly in reading, writing and maths. You'll create a stimulating classroom environment where children feel valued, supported and motivated to succeed.

This role would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT who is passionate about making a difference. The school welcomes teachers who can uphold and promote their strong values and ethos, and who bring creativity, enthusiasm and commitment to every lesson.

Requirements

  • Strong classroom practice and a passion for primary education.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and engage learners of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience in KS1 or KS2, or within a faith‑based school setting, would be an advantage, but is not essential.
