Job Title: Year 3 Teaching Assistant - EAL & Intervention Support

Location: L8, Liverpool

Start Date: September 2025

A Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join from September 2025. The role involves general classroom support, with a particular focus on working with EAL pupils and leading small group interventions in phonics and maths.

About the Role:

  • Support the class teacher with daily teaching and learning activities
  • Work with small groups of pupils, delivering focused interventions in phonics and maths
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with EAL, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in English
  • Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and preparation of resources
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes engagement and progress

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within Key Stage 2
  • A strong understanding of phonics (e.g., Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc.)
  • Experience working with EAL pupils and adapting learning to support language development
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient, supportive approach
  • A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
