Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality and engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners in Year 2.
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support where needed.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages children's academic and social development.
  • Differentiate lessons and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with SEND and EAL.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress.
  • Contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including events, trips, and extracurricular opportunities.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum, particularly for Year 2.
