About the role

Heart of Supply is delighted to be recruiting Year 2 Supply Teachers to support our valued partner schools across Newark and the surrounding areas, commencing January 2026. These rewarding and flexible roles include day-to-day, short-term, and longer‑term opportunities within Key Stage 1. You'll have the chance to work in a range of welcoming schools across Newark, delivering engaging lessons, following well‑prepared plans, and helping to create a positive, consistent learning environment as pupils prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2.

We’re seeking enthusiastic, reliable educators who can quickly build rapport with pupils, manage behaviour positively, and bring a calm, confident presence to the classroom. Whether you support children as they develop key literacy and numeracy skills, prepare them for the end‑of‑key‑stage assessments, or nurture their growing independence, you’ll be making a meaningful difference every day.

If you’re passionate about helping KS1 children thrive while enjoying the flexibility of supply teaching, we’d love to hear from you.

What you will need
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and recent experience in a UK primary setting
  • A nurturing, flexible teaching approach with the ability to connect quickly with pupils across KS1
  • Confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management rooted in positive reinforcement
  • The ability to follow pre‑set work while bringing your own creativity and energy to the classroom
  • Clear communication, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff alike
  • A minimum of 6 weeks' teaching experience in the UK
What we offer you
  • Competitive weekly PAYE pay
  • Roles tailored to your lifestyle, day‑to‑day or longer term
  • Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools
  • A friendly, experienced consultant who listens (hi, I’m Jess)
  • Free CPD and ongoing professional development
  • A simple 'Refer a Friend' scheme
  • A warm, supportive agency that genuinely cares about you and your journey

We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.
