A welcoming specialist secondary school in Hackney, catering for students with moderate learning needs, is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 10 team for the remainder of the academic year.

This role is ideal for someone who brings enthusiasm, resilience, and a calm, supportive approach to the classroom. You'll play a key role in helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing hands‑on, in‑class support to Year 10 learners with moderate learning needs
• Encouraging participation and fostering positive learning habits
• Supporting pupils with social interaction, confidence building, and emotional regulation
• Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver meaningful support

What we're looking for:

• Experience working with SEND learners is beneficial
• Strong behaviour management and the ability to form positive relationships quickly
• Backgrounds in mentoring, youth work, or sport are highly valued – students enjoy active, movement‑based learning

Role Information

Location: Hackney

Contract: Full academic year (September 2025 – July 2026)

Pay: Starting at £95 per day, increasing to £128 after 12 weeks
