Qualifications

Salary: £185 - £220 per day

About the role/school

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Year 1 Teacher to join a warm, welcoming, and high-achieving two-form entry primary school in Waltham Forest from January. The school is well-resourced, child-focused, and has an excellent leadership team that is highly supportive of staff wellbeing, development, and progression.

The successful Year 1 Teacher will be joining a collaborative and experienced KS1 team where planning is shared and staff work closely together to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. Behaviour across the school is excellent, and pupils are enthusiastic, respectful, and eager to learn.

This is a full-time Year 1 Teacher position with strong long-term potential for the right candidate. The school is also open to developing ambitious teachers into future year group, subject, or phase leaders, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking to grow.

Job Responsibilities

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Support pupils through the crucial transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider KS1 team
  • Use assessment effectively to track pupil progress and inform planning
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and staff
  • Contribute positively to whole-school events, training, and developments

This role would suit a Year 1 Teacher who is energetic, nurturing, organised, and passionate about early learning.
