Job summary

Skyline Roofing Centres is seeking a reliable Yard & Warehouse Operative with FLT for our Edgware branch. The role covers forklift operations, stock handling, and high levels of customer service in a busy yard environment.

Applicants must hold a valid forklift licence and UK driving licence, with solid yard/warehouse experience and good maths and literacy for stock checking. Training will be provided, and a discretionary bonus scheme is in place.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a yard and/or warehouse environment, preferably with solid forklift experience.
• A valid forklift licence together with a valid UK driver’s licence.
• Solid yard experience and ability to manage stock and orders.

Responsibilities

Are you looking for a stable, hands-on role with a supportive team? Our friendly Edgware branch is looking for a reliable Yard & Warehouse Operative with FLT to join us.

While we offer comprehensive training on our products and systems, you will need solid yard experience together with a forklift licence and a full, clean UK driver's licence to hit the ground running.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:30pm
• Friday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
• Saturday: 7:00am - 10:00am

What We Are Looking For

• Licences: A valid forklift licence together with a valid UK driver's licence.
• Experience: Experience working in a yard and/or warehouse environment, preferably with solid practical forklift experience.
• Skills: Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Basics: Good confidence with practical maths and basic literacy for stock checking.
• Attitude: A reliable, enthusiastic and keen team player with great communication skills.

The Role at a Glance

Your time will be split between hitting the road and managing our busy yard. Key duties include:

• Forklift Operations: Safely operating forklift trucks to move stock.
• Customer Service: Welcoming and assisting trade and retail customers.
• Stock Logistics: Efficiently loading, unloading, picking, and packing orders.
• Yard Upkeep: Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, and organised.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Care: Serve customers promptly, ensuring they get the exact materials they need.
• Inbound Stock: Receive, check, and log incoming deliveries, immediately reporting any missing or damaged items.
• Stock Management: Ensure stock is clearly labelled and alert the Branch Manager when items run low. Driving the company van to deliver and collect stock when necessary.
• Safety First: Maintain forklifts correctly and handle all stock in strict line with Health & Safety guidelines.
• Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues to keep daily branch operations running smoothly.
