We’re looking for a dedicated Warehouse/Yard Operative to join the Delivery Team at our Sawtry Branch for a fixed term of 12 months.

What will the role involve?

The Yard/Warehouse Operative plays a crucial role in the efficient and smooth operation of the business by ensuring the coordination and picking of stock to meet the company’s requirements. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing inventory. The operative will be responsible for overseeing the stock’s lifecycle from receipt to dispatch, ensuring all orders are accurately picked, packed, and shipped on time.

This is a physically demanding role which will require you to work outdoors for a number of hours per day.

What will you be doing?
  • Stock Control - physical inventory checks and stock security.
  • Load and unload deliveries with forklift and 6m and 10m 4‑wheel drive Tele Handler trucks ensuring delivery note/paperwork is complete and correct. Training will be given if you don't hold a Telehandler Licence.
  • Collation and picking of Build Stock.
  • Dismantling and recycling Bus Shelter Stock.
  • Managing foliage around Depot Boundary.
  • Take responsibility for keeping the depot and yard organised and tidy.
  • Carry out Health and Safety audits.
  • Recycling/management of waste.
  • Ensure that work is organised to ensure the efficient use of time and resources.
  • Identify and communicate to the Branch any information of relevance to the current state and condition of all Clear Channel structures or products.
  • Ensure that all company procedures, specifications, and systems are strictly adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements within the role and activity are followed at all times. If anything is unclear report this to Team Leader or Operations Manager.
What is required for the role?
  • Previous experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for long periods of time.
  • Able to carry out manual tasks as this role is physically demanding.
  • Forklift driving experience.
  • Telehandler Licence - training will be given if you don't have this.
  • Previous working outdoor experience.
  • Basic IT knowledge.
