Position: Yard Operative – Selby, York

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour unpaid break)

Contract: Temp to Perm

Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative based in the Selby, York area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work and wants to join a friendly, hardworking team with the potential for a permanent position.

Main Duties of a Yard Operative

• Sorting recyclable materials such as metal, plastic, and wood (no food waste)
• Working on a picking line, separating materials into chutes
• General yard duties and maintaining a clean, safe working environment
• Supporting team members to ensure efficient waste processing

Requirements

• Reliable, hardworking, and willing to get stuck in
• Comfortable with manual labour and working outdoors
• Must have own transport (site not accessible by public transport)
• No previous experience required – full training provided

Shift & Overtime

Monday to Friday: 8am – 5pm (1-hour unpaid break)

Occasional Saturday overtime (approximately one per month)
