Job description

Rate: From $30 per hour depending on experience

Due to exciting growth in the business, we are currently looking for a motivated Workshop Assistant to join our dedicated team and are ideal for those enthusiastic and flexible individuals who have a strong willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks while contributing to exciting projects.

This is a casual position with the potential of becoming a permanent role.

Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the workshop.
  • Organise and sort materials for efficient storage.
  • Prepare materials for delivery to site, including cutting and bending steel reinforcement and handling formwork and sundries.
  • Assist with general maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Support the production of precast concrete products, including formwork, batching materials, and pouring concrete at our factory.
  • Deliver materials to sites and pick up supplies from vendors.
  • Safely load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of loads.
Skills and Experience:
  • Valid C-class driver’s license (manual) and comfortable driving a flatbed truck.
  • White card for construction work.
  • General understanding of power tools and tool safety.
  • Physical capability to handle job demands, including lifting heavy objects and conduct manual handling tasks safely.
  • Attention to detail & ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Display resilience and courage with the ability to adapt to new situations and challenges.
  • Own and maintain appropriate work attire (steel cap work boots, work pants, and shirts).
Preferable Qualifications:
  • Understanding of mechanical equipment.
