The Woodlands is seeking to appoint 3 experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Grade 6 Enhanced Teaching Assistants to join The Bridge Team, currently based in Lanchester.
The Bridge provides specialist support for pupils who are at risk of permanent exclusion, as well as those who have been permanently excluded and are working towards successful reintegration into mainstream education.
The service supports young people to overcome barriers to learning, improve engagement, and develop the skills and behaviours needed to achieve positive educational outcomes.
As an Enhanced Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and with their behaviour and emotional regulation. This will include providing targeted support within lessons, helping pupils access the curriculum, promoting engagement in learning, and delivering interventions that address individual learning, behavioural, and emotional needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure pupils make progress and are well prepared for a successful return to mainstream education where appropriate.
Pupils are referred to The Bridge through the Secondary Behaviour and Inclusion Panels, which operate across County Durham. Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, you will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where young people can rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships, regulate their emotions effectively, re-engage with education, and achieve their full potential.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about inclusion, behaviour support, and helping vulnerable pupils succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
