University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry is seeking a Band 5 Plastics Dressings Clinic Nurse to join our wound care team. The post involves cross-site cover predominantly at the UHCW site with occasional Rugby St Cross sessions.

Applicants must have post-preceptorship experience and current UK NMC registration. Immunisation and vaccination reporting is required, and you will provide safe, compassionate care, assess wounds, manage complex wounds and maintain accurate

Competenze

• Post-preceptorship experience is required.
• Current UK NMC registration is required to be considered.
• Immunisation and vaccination report must be provided from UK health providers or GP.

Mansioni

• Provide safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients attending the plastics dressing clinic.
• Assess wounds, including size, depth, tissue type, exudate, odour, surrounding skin and signs of infection.
• Assess and manage post-operative wounds, grafts, flaps, donor sites and complex wounds within your competence.
• Undertake VAC/NPWT dressing changes following appropriate training and competency assessment.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection prevention and control standards during wound care.
• Monitor patients for complications and escalate concerns promptly to the relevant clinician.
• Provide patient education and maintain accurate clinical documentation including wound assessments.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team and arrange appropriate follow-up appointments.
