The role

As a Workshop Technology Trainer, you’ll be at the heart of delivering hands-on technical education to the next generation of Army engineers. You’ll join a team of passionate training professionals who use modern techniques and cutting-edge learning technologies to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in their chosen trade.

This is more than a teaching role; it’s a chance to make a real impact on national defence and your own career development. No prior training experience required as we will look to develop you into the role.

Day-to-day you’ll be
  • Delivering practical training in hand skills and workshop technology.
  • Supporting students throughout their learning journey, offering guidance and mentorship.
  • Continuously reviewing and updating course content to reflect technological advancements.

The role is based onsite at MOD Lyneham, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.

Essential experience of the Workshop Trainer
  • Using measuring and calibration tools such as gauge blocks and slip gauges.
  • Manufacturing and fabricating to engineering drawings.
  • Strong craft and technical abilities.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Enhanced DBS + Child Barring Service (EDBSCBL) security clearance for this role.
