Job summary

Oceaneering International Inc. in Aberdeen invites applications for a Workshop Technician role focused on maintenance and refurbishment of ROV systems and related tooling in our Aberdeen workshop.

You will perform mobilisations, ensure compliance with HSE standards, contribute to QHSE improvements, and travel offshore when required. A background in mechanical/hydraulic engineering and practical experience with pressure testing and cranes are valued.

Qualifications

• City Guilds/SVQ 3 in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering required.
• Awareness of 6S and lean principles.
• Extensive experience with pressure testing (hydro/pneumatic).
• Experience working at heights.
• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
• Overhead crane certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, mobilisation, demobilisation, calibration and refurbishment of equipment.
• Prepare, mobilise and demobilise ROV systems and tooling.
• Ensure work meets company standards and current legislation.
• Update maintenance systems with repair details.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks for workshop group.
• Conduct STOP audits and observe safety systems.
• Participate in safety training and initiatives.
• Follow correct procedures for all tasks.
• Comply with HSE requirements (COSHH, HAVS, PUWER, LOLER).
• Assist in creating Risk Assessments and JSEA.
• Support QHSE continuous improvement initiatives; promote 6S/lean.
• Assist in company competence scheme for progression.
• Travel overseas to provide onsite technical support when required.
• Attend project kick-off meetings as needed.

Job Description

The primary role of the workshop technician is to carry out maintenance and refurbishment activities on ROV
systems, associated tooling packages and/or Survey systems equipment in the Aberdeen workshop

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, (mobilisation, demobilisation, calibration, periodic and in-storage) and refurbishment activities on company and customer owned equipment
• Perform preparation, mobilisation and demobilisation of ROV systems, associated tooling packages and/or Survey systems equipment
• Ensure that all work is performed to conform to company operating and maintenance standards and in accordance with all current legislation
• Update equipment maintenance systems to record details of all repairs and maintenance of company owned equipment
• Participate in daily toolbox talks for workshop group
• Participate in observation system and conduct STOP audits on a regular basis
• Participate in safety training courses and initiatives
• Ensure that all tasks are performed using correct procedures
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements prior to starting and during operations i.e. COSHH, HAVS, PUWER and LOLER
• Participate in creation of Risk Assessments and JSEA
• Participate in QHSE initiatives such as continuous improvement implementation and monitoring
• Adopt and promote 6S and lean principals

Assist with any other duties as and when required

NON-ESSENTIAL

• Participate in the company competence scheme to allow progression through company career framework
• If required, travel overseas and to offshore locations to provide onsite technical support
• If required, attend project kick-off meetings to provide technical support

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• City Guilds, SVQ level 3 in Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Engineering
• Demonstratable awareness of 6S and lean principles
• Extensive experience of “working with pressure” i.e. pressure testing, (hydro and pneumatic)/ function testing
• Working at heights experience
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Overhead crane certification

DESIRED

• HNC /HND in Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Engineering
• Working knowledge of subsea equipment, including, but not limited to ROV systems, ROV Tooling and Survey Systems equipment is beneficial
• City and Guilds- Pressure Testing SCQF Level 6
• Knowledge of subsea XT controls and operations
• Knowledge of Manifold, Umbilical and Subsea XT installation operations
