Workshop Support Operative

Location: Shepton Mallet

Do you have a UK Class 1 (CE) Licence?

The position of Workshop Support Operative involves:

  • Booking out time for each job that is carried out and providing relevant paperwork to Workshop Controllers.
  • Ensuring best practices in component replacement, repair duration, and documentation completion.
  • Supporting and assisting the Fleet Workshop office staff to meet and surpass targets.
  • Managing loaded brake tests, including vehicle trailer collections, facilitating loading, and completing brake tests (training provided).
  • Carrying out minor defect repairs and component replacements.
  • Organising workshop parking for safe operational areas.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace environment.
  • Following health and safety policies diligently, as safety is paramount in this role.

Essential skills required for Workshop Support Operative:

  • UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Hands-on experience with defect rectification, vehicle work, and knowledge of vehicle systems.
  • Counterbalance forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and independently.
Why Gregory Distribution?
  • Basic salary: £36,000 per annum, based on 45 hours/week. Overtime paid at x1.5, approximately £23.54/hour.
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:30.
