Workdry International Ltd is seeking a Workshop Site Services Technician for our Repair Centre in Hixon, Stafford. You will support daily workshop operations, including blasting, painting, fabrication, welding, and yard tasks.

The role requires hands-on skills in metal fabrication, painting, and general site support, with a focus on quality and safety. Training and development opportunities are available within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience of fabrication/work with metal to a high standard using multiple fabrication tools.
• Spray painting experience desirable but not essential.
• Surface preparation and coating knowledge, including safety standards (COSHH).

Responsabilités

• Carry out painting and surface preparation of canopy structures, including sanding, priming, and finishing.
• Fabrication/welding to manufacture, modify and repair items and components, including cutting and joining metal.
• Ensure parts/canopy assemblies are safely mounted or secured to bases or trolleys.
• Assist with general tasks such as cleaning, repairs, and basic fabrication, final test and inspection of pumps.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within site services.
• Yard coordination and handling of materials.
• Keep yard and workshops clean, tidy and organised; assist fitting staff with lifting/moving.

About The Role

We are looking for a Workshop Site Services Technician to join the team based at our Specialist Repair Centre in Hixon, Stafford. You'll support the daily operations of the Workshop Services function at the RepairCentre. This includes hands-oninvolvement in blasting, painting, fabrication, welding, yard operations, and generalsite support.

Main Responsibilities:

• Carry out painting and surface preparation of canopy structures, including sanding, priming, and finishing.
• Carry out fabrication / welding activities to manufacture, modify and repair items and components, including cutting, measuring, and joining metal pieces/structures.
• To ensure that all parts and canopy assemblies are safely mounted/unmounted to their bases or secured to trolleys, trestles for transport.
• Assist with general tasks such as cleaning, repairs, and basic fabrication, final test, inspection and approval of pumps .
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the site services function.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure site standards and production targets are maintained.
• Yard coordination and handling of materials.
• Keep the yard and workshops in a clean, tidy, and organised state at all times, ensuring equipment is accessible when needed.
• Assist fitting staff when required, i.e. lifting, moving, both in the depot or on-site.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience of performing fabrication/work activities to a high standard and using different fabrication tooling and equipment, including Guillotine, Plasma Cutter, Steel Benders, Pillar Drills, Grinders & Tapping.
• Experience as a spray painter with proven experience of spraying to an excellent standard is desirable, but not essential.
• Practical knowledge of preparation of surfaces and application of different paint types, coating thickness etc is desirable.
• Ability to work independently, while recognising overall impact and role to play within the Refurbishment Centre Team.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality, with a passion for delivering high quality workmanship.
• Willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of relevant Health and safety, and Quality standards and procedures, including COSHH standards, as relevant to workshop safety procedures.
• Beneficial, but not essential is NVQ Level 2/3 in Engineering, Fabrication or Paint Repair (or similar).
• Experience in the pump hire or construction industry is a plus.
• Current Counterbalance Forklift truck licence is preferred, although not essential as training can be provided.
