Workshop Manager (Welding/Fabrication) – Peterborough, England

£42,000 - £47,000 + Pension + Bonus + Christmas Shutdown

Are you a Workshop Manager or similar coming from a background within the metal fabrication/welding industry, having previous practical experience in both MIG and TIG Welding, looking to join a well-established, rapidly growing company, at the forefront of technical innovation within the Water Tank industry?

In this role, the successful Workshop Manager will be responsible for:

  • supervision and leadership of the welding/fabrication department.
  • planning workloads, ensuring effective communication and adherence to both company and safety standards.
  • keeping accurate technical documentation of jobs worked.
  • overseeing equipment maintenance, ensuring all tools are in a safe working condition and serviced as required.
  • performing welding/fabrication tasks as and when needed.
  • implementing plans and procedures to ensure the optimisation and continued improvement of the welding/fabrication department.

The ideal Workshop Manager will have:

  • a background in the metal fabrication/welding industry.
  • previous practical experience in both MIG and TIG welding.
  • previous experience in a supervisory/management or related role.
  • understanding of CAD software, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • strong organisational and communication skills.
