Workshop Manager — Halesowen, West Midlands

Salary: c£40k-£45k depending on experience + generous incentives

Our Halesowen based client is a successful manufacturing operation established for almost four decades, supplying a range of clients with both one-off and high-volume solutions in all sectors of engineering and manufacturing. They offer CNC precision engineered products and general products for supply throughout the UK. Due to continued success and the retirement of one of the original founders, they are seeking a dynamic and proactive Workshop Manager to take on the responsibilities of the outgoing Manager, develop product offerings in new sectors, and maintain valued client relationships.

This role is hands-on; the successful candidate will be involved in the daily running of a busy workshop rather than remaining office-based, with the team working collaboratively on a daily basis.

Responsibilities
  • Sales — maximise results from existing customers and develop relationships with new clients to ensure cost-effective and profitable business.
  • Sourcing materials — identify reliable and cost-effective suppliers and manage relationships to minimize production downtime.
  • Business administration — monitor manufacturing status via production cards and identify and resolve issues as they arise.
  • General activities to ensure deadlines are met — quality and inspection or test, packaging support, and tidying up as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Solid engineering and manufacturing background essential.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a supportive environment.
  • Experience with SAGE 50 is advantageous.
