Workshop Manager – Castle Donington

Salary: Up to £48,000. Company van

Are you an experienced Workshop Manager or Senior Technician ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a highly motivated, hands‑on leader to oversee a busy service depot in Castle Donington. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected, growing organisation that values technical expertise, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • As Workshop Manager, take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service depot. Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while leading and developing a skilled team of technicians and service staff.
  • Manage workshop operations and ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards.
  • Provide technical support to engineers and customers.
  • Oversee job scheduling, quality control, and completion of all service documentation.
  • Monitor parts stock levels, returns, and logistics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Control costs and ensure profitability across all jobs.
  • Develop the team through training, mentoring, and regular performance reviews.
About You

You’ll be an effective people manager with a strong technical background in a workshop or service environment. You know how to motivate teams, build customer relationships, and deliver outstanding service.

Essential skills and experience
  • Proven experience managing a team within a technical or service-based environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • IT literacy and familiarity with workshop management systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience in municipal, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
  • Formal leadership or management training.
