Responsibilities
- As Workshop Manager, take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service depot. Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while leading and developing a skilled team of technicians and service staff.
- Manage workshop operations and ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards.
- Provide technical support to engineers and customers.
- Oversee job scheduling, quality control, and completion of all service documentation.
- Monitor parts stock levels, returns, and logistics.
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Control costs and ensure profitability across all jobs.
- Develop the team through training, mentoring, and regular performance reviews.
About You
You’ll be an effective people manager with a strong technical background in a workshop or service environment. You know how to motivate teams, build customer relationships, and deliver outstanding service.
Essential skills and experience
- Proven experience managing a team within a technical or service-based environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- IT literacy and familiarity with workshop management systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience in municipal, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
- Formal leadership or management training.
