Overview

Are you an experienced Workshop Manager or a Senior Technician/Operator looking for a step up? Do you have experience working within a manufacturing, CNC or metal fabrication environment? If so, this Workshop Manager role is perfect for you!

The Workshop Manager role is with a manufacturer in the Alton area. The working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is paying up to £50,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all areas of the UK manufacturing and production operations.
  • Manage departments involved in welding, machining, painting, wiring and assembly to ensure products are produced to a high standard and delivered on time.
  • Lead with a hands-on approach, supervising a team of around 15 production staff, providing guidance, coaching and support.
  • Plan and schedule production activities, addressing shortages or disruptions quickly.
  • Manage sourcing and stock of materials, components and consumables; work with suppliers to achieve the best pricing and delivery times.
  • Regularly review manufacturing methods, equipment and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support audits of UK-made products and components, working with the purchasing department to address issues and implement corrective or preventative actions.
  • Use ERP systems to manage manufacturing data, including bills of materials, stock levels, and reordering processes to maintain strong stock availability.
  • Support the company's ISO9001 accreditation by participating in management meetings and progressing agreed actions; potentially become an internal auditor.
