Workshop Foreman Location : Bournemouth Salary : £32,000

  • £35,000 per annum, Type: Full-Time | Permanent Are you an experienced Workshop Foreman ready to take the lead in a busy plant hire environment? A well-established hire company is looking for a proactive and organised individual to manage and drive performance within their depot workshop based in Bournemouth.

As Workshop Foreman, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the depot’s workshop to ensure maximum availability of plant for hire.

You’ll be responsible for managing a team of workshop engineers, maintaining health and safety standards, ensuring efficient servicing and repairs, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure no more than 5% of the fleet is under repair at any time
  • Maximise availability of Top 50 equipment
  • Plan and oversee maintenance schedules, service records, and repairs
  • Manage workshop staff, delegate workloads, and support with training and development
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop and yard area
  • Monitor plant breakdowns and off-hire inspections
  • Ensure company vehicles and plant comply with manufacturer and legal standards
  • Order parts within authorised limits using Smart Office system
  • Uphold all health and safety regulations and enforce safe working practices
