Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Dartford is seeking an experienced Workshop Fitter for a high-quality workshop environment. The role includes performing maintenance on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and diverse responsibilities such as MOT preparation and electrical inspections.   • Desirable: HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on vehicles.

  • Conduct scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.

Workshop Fitter - Early and late shifts available

£46000 - £57000 basic

This is a new opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Engineer who wishes to operate in a high quality workshop.

This company will aid you on your career journey. You can expect to be trained on new products and put through the required courses such as Irtec.

Your working days will be diverse and interesting, no 2 days will be the same.

You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs)hook loaders, Municipal Vehicles (Gritters, Dust Carts, Sweepers)and tippers-

The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

  • Routine (and preventative) maintenance
  • MOT preparation
  • Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
  • 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
  • Correction of running defects
  • Chassis and fabrication work
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Improvement of vehicle standards
  • Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.

Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or EV qualification would be desirable, as would a HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
