Qualifications

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Workshop Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with hands‑on engineering experience who thrives in a collaborative workshop environment and is eager to contribute to innovative projects.

Responsibilities
  • Confidently remove and install mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Fault find and repair low‑voltage PLC‑based control and safety systems.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and deliveries to site as a second person.
  • Wash, strip, prepare, paint, and re‑assemble equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop, yard, and building.
  • Support general building maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with the stores person to organise stock and parts.
Requirements
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • Proven engineering experience across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Practical knowledge of PLC control systems.
  • A hands‑on, proactive approach to workshop tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to site using a pool vehicle when required.
  • Must be commutable to Waltham Abbey.
Hours

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 17:00 (40 hours)
