Job description

A fresh and rewarding vacancy has arisen at a franchised main dealer in Plymouth. The business is part of a privately-owned dealer group, representing a selection of ‘household-name’ quality automotive brands.

They are looking for a skilled, confident WORKSHOP CONTROLLER to be the main interface between a team of Technicians and the front of house service reception.

Amongst your main responsibilities, you will be ensuring that each day’s workload is completed as efficiently as possible, ensuring good communications between all parties. Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, you will also be responsible for several key workshop functions, including supervising the technical teams performance / progress and organising rotas.

A summary of your key activities / responsibilities will include

  • Management of the Workshop & support team.
  • Carry out regular reviews to identify operational issues / discrepancies and ensure appropriate follow up actions are taken to rectify.
  • Manage the performance of the department.
  • Manage and plan workshop & resources to ensure that work can be completed as per schedule.
  • Support the sales team to ensure cars (pre-sale) are ready for handover.
  • Hold regular production meetings to plan workload and resources,
  • Anticipate production problems based on forward plan / resources and provide support to handle workload.

To be considered you MUST have :

  • Previous experience and up to date skills as either a Workshop Controller or Senior Service Advisor with workshop control knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards
  • Full UK driving licence
